Details

The whole bone-in Parma Ham weighs approximately 10,5 kg and should be kept in a humid place (like a cellar) at a temperature of 10 - 18 C°.

It's supplied as is the picture above; once cut, we suggest to keep it refrigerated wrapped in a dampened cotton cloth.

According to ancient traditions, only top quality pork meat in strictly selected in order to obtain a product of supreme excellence. The meat is then salted and seasoned for 20 months with no added preservatives in this valley, that is unique for its climatic conditions favorable for a perfect natural seasoning.

Nutritional Properties

Although just a few people know it, it's a matter of fact that Parma Ham is a really valid food in low calories diets: deprived of visible fat, 100g of ham have less fat than beef and turkey meat.

Furthermore, Parma Ham has a low cholesterol content (similar to veal, chicken and rabbit) and a high percentage of oleic acid - beneficial for arteriosclerosis prevention, as confirmed by several recent studies.
